Economy Series
The Economy Series is a hybrid between real wrought iron fence and the low cost tube type fencing that is typical today.
This fence is aimed at projects where budgets are limited yet the distinguished appearance of a wrought iron fence is desired.
With that in mind, Fredrick Jones Iron Works has developed a light-weight tube structure fence. The horizontal members are 1 x 1 1/8 inch steel channel. The vertical pickets pass through the horizontal channel and are welded together. On top of the picket, a pyramid style top is welded to the hollow tube. Along the top vertical member is hand-formed scroll work to give this fence the appearance of a wrought iron piece.
All components are phosphate dipped and coated in a rust-resistant pain, using antique flat black to give it an aged appearance.
Compare with other tube type light-weight fencing, and you will see the difference that attention to detail makes.
Fence Section
Fence sections are available in 3 standard heights:
- 48" high
- pool compliant - 62" high (check local codes)
Custom heights may also be ordered.
Gates
The Fredrick Jones Company considers the gate a welcoming work of art, a handmade solid wrought iron mechanism that invites family and guests into your home.
It is for this reason that Fredrick Jones gates come complete with two oversized gate posts along with wonderful hand-forged and shaped latches, made by a master blacksmith out of red hot iron.
Gate posts are slightly larger (5" x 5") than the fence posts, but of the same design to properly announce your entrance.
Driveway Gates - These functioning works of art come complete with oversized posts, handmade latches and hardware fashioned out of solid steel by a master blacksmith. The standard size opening between posts is 14' 4", but custom openings are also available. The finish is in heritage flat black to match your Fredrick Jones fence.
Posts
The posts are make of solid steel angles welded together in a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch square, then hand-flared and curled at the top.
